The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 teaser earlier this week might’ve been light on gameplay, but something more extensive is here.

During Summer Games Fest on Thursday, Infinity Ward released an entire mission playthrough of Modern Warfare 2. This level is called “Operation Dark Water” and will force the iconic Task Force 141 to infiltrate an off-shore oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. It’s not quite a tanker, but industrial settings during nighttime ops (while it’s raining) should be familiar to any diehard series fan. 

Check out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for yourself below. That new-generation graphics engine is flexing, that’s for sure.

Hopefully, fans will be happier with this once after Tuesday’s divisive reveal. It’s classic Call of Duty, at any rate. Multiplayer is still nowhere in sight, but that’ll likely pop up in the next couple of months. Here’s hoping, anyway.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will launch on Oct. 28, 2022, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Battle.net. Warzone 2 is also coming later this year, though there’s no release date yet.
