OK, look: I love ketchup as much as the next person. It’s good on burgers and fries and maybe when I was much younger, I might have tried it on steak and enjoyed the combo before later discovering steak sauces and or good steak that didn’t need anything on it.
But … Patrick Mahomes has taken this thing way too far.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback became famous (infamous?) in 2018 when an ESPN feature revealed he puts ketchup “on everything,” including steak. That’s led to endorsements and lots of #PatMahomesChallenge jokes.
But does that love of ketchup extend to … Thanksgiving turkey and/or ham?
Yep. In an interview with KCSP 610 Sports Radio, he said he would do it with the hosts wrinkling their noses at the idea.
“Yeah, dude, I mean come on, you got to put ketchup on that, turkey and ham,” he said. “You know me better than that!”
BREAKING: Patrick Mahomes confirmed that he WILL put ketchup on his turkey Thursday.

This is where I draw the line, Patrick. Both turkey and ham have very distinct tastes and a saltiness that doesn’t mix well with that sugary-vinegary tomato mix. It works on chicken, which is a more flat taste, in my tasting opinion.
Please, someone make him some homemade gravy (not the store-bought kind) and show him the way.
