Patrick Mahomes got a reported 10-year extension and everyone made Mitch Trubisky jokes

Patrick Mahomes is going to be the starting quarterback for the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs for a very, very long time as the two sides reportedly agreed on a 10-year extension on Monday. Mahomes still has two years left on his current deal so that means he’s locked into the Chiefs for 12 more years.

That’s a lot of years!

While NFL Twitter went nuts over the deal, fans also had a lot to say about another QB from the 2017 NFL Draft class – Mitch Trubisky.

The Bears, of course, traded up one spot in 2017 to pick Trubisky with the No. 2 overall pick. The Chiefs took Mahomes with the No. 10 pick in that very same draft and, well, things have worked out a lot better for Mahomes and the Chiefs. Trubisky, meanwhile, has struggled and didn’t have his rookie option picked up.
