The “beef” between Dwyane Wade and Aaron Gordon — if we can call it that? — just took a turn for the better.
Last week, Aaron Gordon put together a diss track and a video aimed at calling Wade out for judging his dunk over Tacko Fall as a 9 out of 10.
That’s not a bad mark in normal circumstances, but when you dunk over a 7’6 guy you deserve a 10 for the attempt alone. So, as ridiculous as the diss track was, it was probably warranted? Especially if it cost Gordon a slam dunk title.
Still, even with that being the case, Gordon told ESPN there’s no real beef between the two of them.
“People would ask me for it, so I just gave the people what they wanted, just my perspective. I had to talk a lot about my opinion and my perspective on the dunk contest, so I thought this was a fun, creative, expressive, uplifting way to voice my opinion and tell the world what I was going through and what I was seeing on that day.”
I’m not sure who was asking Gordon for a diss track — let alone a video debuting the diss track. But yes, Aaron Gordon, give the people what they were asking for.
Let’s just hope that Wade doesn’t take it upon himself to respond to Gordon’s diss, in kind, with a rap. We saw how that turned out before. We never need to see that again.
