On Tuesday morning, Tom Brady made the first step of his decision public:
He would not be re-signing with the New England Patriots.
Come Tuesday evening, NFL fans got first word of the likely destination.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and multiple reports, Brady agreed to terms on a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — choosing to head to the NFC South over the Chargers, Dolphins and Patriots.
For Tampa, it’s obviously huge news. The Bucs hired Bruce Arians to help develop Jameis Winston, and Winston went ahead and threw 30 interceptions in 2019. It was time for a change. Yet, even Brady’s age — and statistical decline in 2019 — did little to stop the enthusiasm amongst Bucs fans.
Just minutes after reports first went public of Brady choosing Tampa Bay, the Ticketmaster queue for Buccaneers season tickets absolutely exploded. It went from 972 to nearly 2,000 in a matter of seconds.
The Bucs bandwagon is going strong now.
