The UEFA Champions League is back this week for the fourth round of matches in the group stage, and this is the round where the top teams start to get in a position to either qualify for the knockout stage or win their groups. For one of the competition’s biggest favorites, this is exactly what’s at stake this week, badly need a win at the Santiago Bernabéu to erase the memory of a bad performance over the weekend.
Real Madrid vs. Galatasaray
- When: Wednesday, November 6
- Time: 3:00 p.m. ET
- TV: TNT, TUDN
- Live Stream: fuboTV (watch for free)
The last time we saw Real Madrid in the Champions League, it put together a pretty complete performance against the same opponents itll face on Wednesday, and to do it in Turkey against a crazy, hostile atmosphere. Many have watched a very inconsistent season from Los Blancos and perhaps signaled the start of a big run of wins. Then they can’t score against relegation candidates Real Betis and fail to capture first place in La Liga and all the questions start again. Zinedine Zidane continues to look for a consistent lineup that will give him the attacking prowess and the goals he’s still looking for.
To make things a little more interesting, Madrid is yet to win at home in the Champions League, and with just four points from its first three group stage games, it’s under real pressure to get a victory in this one. So all Galatasaray needs to do is to use Madrid’s pressure against them, and with PSG likely to beat Club Brugge in the other game in this group, the Turks have a real shot of finishing in third place and qualifying for the Europa League knockouts. A draw is already a good result, but Galatasaray has enough attacking talent to feel like it can get something even better than that.
