Demaryius Thomas has re-signed with the New England Patriots just two days after missing their 53-man roster.

The move comes, as many NFL insiders expected, with rookie receiver N’Keal Harry going to injured reserve. The Patriots’ first-round pick from this year’s draft has dealt with ankle and hamstring injuries throughout the summer and only appeared in the first game of the preseason, logging two receptions before limping off the field against the Detroit Lions.

Thomas originally signed with the Pats in April as he continued recovery from an Achilles tear in December of last year. The veteran receiver is with New England on a one-year deal.

Harry will have to sit out at least the first eight games of the regular season and will not be eligible to practice until after six weeks.
