Fantasy football: The 10 most valuable rookies

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

It’s all too easy for fanbases to get overhyped about rookie prospects, and there’s always that one fantasy player in your league who takes a young quarterback or wide receiver way too early.

These first-year players are primed to prove the hype is justified. Here is a breakdown of the 10 most important and influential rookies for the 2019 season, from a back in Buffalo who could be huge if a veteran gets cut to the running back everyone’s talking about as a potential breakout star.

10. Devin Singletary, RB, Bills

There are a handful of rookies who are guaranteed a larger share of their offense. Ravens receiver Marquise Brown, for example, might become the clear-cut No. 1 receiver in Baltimore. But Singletary presents unique boom-bust potential that will be worth risking at his draft position, currently 166 overall on Fantasy Pros.

There’s an outside chance LeSean McCoy gets traded or cut. There’s a good chance he gets injured. Even with Frank Gore and T.J. Yeldon in the mix, Singletary could take an increased role as the season wears on.
