The past two years have been absolutely devastating injury-wise for All-Star big man DeMarcus Cousins. He suffered a torn Achilles with the Pelicans, torn quadriceps muscle with Golden State and tore his ACL on Thursday.

Before Cousins ever had a chance to suit up with the Los Angeles Lakers, his 2019-20 season in all likelihood came to an end during a pickup game scrimmage in Las Vegas.

While initial reports described the injury as occurring during a workout, video obtained by TMZ showed Cousins pulling up as he was about to attempt a layup in a game. Cousins knew immediately that something was terribly wrong with his knee.

Cousins could be heard screaming during the non-contact injury and hit the floor as players rushed to his attention.

That’s just a terrible blow for Cousins who had worked relentlessly to return to form after his Achilles injury. He signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Lakers this offseason.
