Football world reacts to reports of the AAF suspending league operations

The Alliance of American Football was doomed from the start. The ill-planned, start-up league needed an early $250 million cash infusion from Tom Dundon just to make it out of Week 1. And now, it appears that the league’s end is imminent.

According to a report from ProFootballTalk, the AAF will decide to suspend operations on Tuesday as the league moves towards folding.

There had been rumblings about the league’s demise for weeks. And according to MMQB’s Albert Breer, Dundon got involved in the league for the AAF’s gambling app. He wanted the technology without the burden of a failing football league.

If the AAF does indeed fold, it will be remembered along the lines of the first XFL — just another failed football league.

As news of the AAF’s suspension hit Twitter, fans had plenty of reaction to the league’s troubles.
