Larger than life celebrity couple Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez announced their engagement via Instagram earlier this week with a simple shot of an enormous diamond ring on Lopez’s ring finger.
What was missing from that shot though, is what was on Rodriguez’s finger at the time of the proposal. On Tuesday, Lopez posted a series of action shot engagement photos that show that not only did ARod get down on one knee, but he also wore his 2009 World Series ring for the special moment.
His ring bling is bigger than her diamond, but not by much.
Why he would wear his ring while popping the question is a bit of a mystery, since it’s not exactly beach attire. Maybe he’s a superstitious guy, maybe he just doesn’t get a chance to wear it that often, or, he wanted two special moments in his life to somehow be linked.
Either way, it’s nice that now they both have something massive weighing down their hands.
“There aren’t many words to share with you, only feelings. Gratitude, excitement and just…joy,” Lopez said on Instagram about their engagement.
