Can DeMarcus Ware become the latest former NFL player to win 'DWTS'?

The Mirrorball trophy is up for the taking again.

The latest cast of Dancing With The Stars includes paralymic adaptive skiier Dannele Umstead, former gymnast Mary Lou Retton and former NFL player DeMarcus Ware. Also relevant to our interests here at For The Win? “Grocery Store Joe,” aka ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ cast member Joe Amabile will also show off his best dance skills on the show.

Professional athletes have a long history on the show – the last season was comprised only of them (Adam Rippon won that one). Rashad Jennings won in 2017 and said that his key was much like it is in the NFL: practice, practice, practice.

“It’s a lot of work,” he told FTW. “If somebody thinks they can show up and do this entire show and not put in a lot of uncomfortable work then they’re kidding themselves,” he said. “We put in five hours, five to six hours on average a day. And it was every day. Every single day. Didn’t miss one rehearsal, didn’t leave early. We were fighting for more (rehearsal time). When they told us we had 150 more hours or so than everyone else we were like ‘what?’ because we were begging for more.”
