Serena Williams’ inspiring return to the French Open was cut short when she bowed out due to injury on Monday – but she wrote in an Instagram post that she wasn’t done fighting.
“You always live to fight for another chance,” she wrote. “I’ve done a lot of fighting and this is just the beginning. Thank you a for the support. I love you.”
For Williams, the French Open was about more than just being a great tennis player. She said last week that she was sending a message when she wore a catsuit outfit on the court to all of the moms out there who had endured tough recoveries from pregnancies like she had. “Catsuit anyone? For all the moms out there who had a tough recovery from pregnancy—here you go. If I can do it, so can you. Love you all!!” she wrote on Instagram.
