Canadian goose does not care about IndyCar practice, waddles onto track

Every once in a while, animals like to remind fans and sports venues that they are actually outdoors (most of the time) and, therefore, are on their territory.

The racing world is no exception, although it’s incredibly dangerous for certain animals to stroll onto race tracks because they could end up going head-to-head against a 200-mile-an-hour car.

Luckily, when a Canadian goose plopped onto the track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Tuesday while drivers were testing for the Indy 500 later this month, it didn’t end in disaster for anyone. Drivers did, however, have to slow down to ensure that didn’t happen.

Look at this guy. He is not concerned about being on their race track. As FTW’s Ted Berg recently pointed out, Canadian geese are among the worst birds, and this one definitely did not care about briefly holding up IndyCar practice.

Or perhaps it just wanted to share its support for Canadian driver Robert Wickens.

If you feel strongly about birds, take FTW’s poll about which one is the worst.
