The Houston Astros visited the White House on Monday to celebrate their 2017 World Series title with President Trump. It was a morning that had its share of awkward moments.
Fans noticed that Astros star Jose Altuve appeared to be mean mugging Trump as he stood behind the president, and photos of Altuve’s facial expression quickly made rounds on Twitter.
Altuve, though, had his own response to the expression’s social media reaction. He tweeted a photo on Tuesday of him looking at the Commissioner’s Trophy with a similar expression.
Well played, Jose.
Altuve told reporters on Tuesday that he was listening to Trump speak — it was just the face he happened to be making.
