With its season starting on September 27, Saturday Night Live is on the lookout for new hosts. The U.S. women’s gymnastics team, also known as the Final Five, promptly raised their hands.
They could be some interesting hosts for SNL, as it has never featured enough tumbling. Plus Leslie Jones could continue being the no. 1 Olympic superfan with Aly Raisman, Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez and Madison Kocian hosting.
Athlete hosts have been hit-or-miss for the show. Peyton Manning was a high point, while others, like Derek Jeter and Lance Armstrong, have been less successful. But if they can get all five women to do it — and that might be tough, considering Laurie Hernandez is going to be on Dancing with the Stars — it could be a great show.
