Steph Curry’s 2015-16 season was especially huge for Under Armour, which extended Curry’s contract through 2024 in September 2015. As the company’s flagship basketball spokesperson, Curry wore a number of shoes during Golden State’s 73-win campaign.
When we looked at the color shoes Curry wore this season, we asked a simple question:
So what shoe color did Curry play best while wearing?

Steven Ruiz
Curry played 79 games during the 2015-16 regular season. He hit a record 402 3-point field goals. He also never lost while wearing white shoes. Curry wore predominately white shoes 24 times this season, and averaged 30.46 points per game in those kicks while shooting 48.4 percent from 3.
Now, Golden State had a 54-game home winning streak snapped this season, and white shoes are commonly worn at home. That didn’t necessarily apply to Curry when looking at his undefeated mark with white shoes. He wore white on the road seven times this season.
While wearing the team color shoes of white, gold and blue, Curry maintained a consistent scoring average of just over 30 points per game. However, we saw a major drop off in the 13 games that Curry wore black shoes this season.
In black, Curry shot 37 percent from 3-point range and averaged 25.4 points per game. He wore black shoes in the least amount of games of any single color shoe, but in an MVP season, some of Curry’s worst games came in black shoes. His five-point game against Denver and his 14-point, 1 of 12 from 3 loss to San Antonio were both games that Curry wore black shoes in.

When wearing special-edition shoes, Curry averaged 35.29 point per game. Golden State was undefeated in those seven games, and Curry shot an absurd 53.7 percent from 3. He scored 53 points against New Orleans and 51 points against Washington while sporting colorful shoes.
