We’ve got another authority on Prince’s basketball prowess weighing in after Samuel L. Jackson’s recent Instagram post.

This time, it was Magic Johnson, who appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday and was asked about his late friend:

“He talked so much trash, he thought he had a real jump shot! And I had to remember it was Prince that I was playing against, so I had to back off. But he really thought he could play basketball.”

Maybe when you’re facing Magic Johnson and not, say, Charlie Murphy, it’s tougher to hit a shot. The Hall of Famer went on to tell a story of Prince calling Johnson and asked him to open his movie theater at 2 a.m. When the music legend arrived with his entourage, they were all in pajamas.
