You might think it’s all well and good for an MLB superstar like Jose Bautista to show up his opponents and disrespectfully display emotion over as trifling a thing as a go-ahead homer late in a series-deciding playoff game, but you failed to consider the effects MLB stars can have on our nation’s impressionable youth. Kids these days — ugh, kids these days! — want nothing more than to be like the baseball stars they worship, and now, from a high-school game in Nevada, comes evidence of the way stars like Bautista and Bryce Harper and Carlos Correa have turned our children into unsportsmanlike show-offs who treat baseball games like they’re something endeavored for entertainment instead of the stark and serious contests they were always meant to be.

Take a look at how Bishop Gorman sophomore Ryan Sepede reacted to a walk-off grand slam in a game against Desert Oasis. Despicable:

Sike! Kid just hit a walk-off grand slam. And while Sepede is apparently a potential future MLB draft pick receiving interest from Division I schools, it’s no safe bet he’ll ever cash in on another opportunity to hit a walk-off grand slam, which is basically the best thing a hitter can ever do. Absolutely throw your bat to the heavens in that spot. Every single time.

Baseball is fun. Life is short and greatness is fleeting, and every single home run should be celebrated. Own it, Ryan Sepede, and never apologize. You had every right to be hyped out of your mind.
