How to eat like a pro racecar driver, according to Andrew Comrie-Picard

Each week, a new athlete will share their weekly diet and diet tips on For The Win. Up this week? X Games athlete, pro racecar driver, BFGoodrich ambassador Andrew Comrie-Picard.

Breakfast

Non-fat yogurt and a bit of granola. Also some fresh fruit. “I love mango,” he said.

Lunch

“I’ll have salad and some protein — some chicken,” he said. “I love plain nuts so I’ll have those in the salad.”

Dinner

Red meat, once a week. “Otherwise we’re eating a lot more fish — I love halibut often in a light sauce … we love sushi a lot. There’s very good sushi in Los Angeles so we probably go once a week.”

Snacks

Almonds

Number one cheat food

“I love wine. (My wife and I) both do. We got married in a wine region. I love red wine and I believe a little bit of red wine is really good for you. I don’t drink sugar soda but I drink the odd diet soda and I’d say that is my vice.”

Favorite meal

“I really love a lot of Thai and Indian curries. I traveled in India for a long time on a motorcycle so I learned a bit about Indian food. My favorite dish to make is cheese fondue, I do it for special occasions like Christmas. I have a particular mix of cheese. Basically you start with a wine broth, some lemon juice, rub the pot with garlic first and a little bit of wine. You have to choose the cheeses carefully … even the type of wine you use matter. If you do it right it’s really a crisp cheesy texture and you get apples, dry meats and it can be really wonderful.”
