Panthers cornerback explains why team had baseball bat on sidelines

Panthers cornerback Bene Benwirke denied reports that his team intimidated Odell Beckham Jr. with baseball bats in a string of tweets on Monday.

Benwirke tweeted that the team has a long tradition of carrying the bats out before games, and began with a picture of himself carrying one that he said was taken before the Panthers’ game against Atlanta.

Benwikere also pointed out that several other teams, including the Ravens and the Saints, have used baseball bats as symbols on the sidelines during games.
