Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy will step onto the field this Sunday for the first time in more than a year.
Hardy was suspended for 10 games by the NFL — later reduced to four — after a judge found him guilty of domestic abuse last year. He was subsequently released from the Panthers at the end of the season and later acquired by the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaking to the media before his game on Sunday against the Cowboys’ game against the Patriots, Hardy was hardly subdued about his return. He called his time away from the game and return to the Cowboys “the most awesome period of my life.” After that he said he wanted to come back “guns blazing” before talking about Tom Brady and his wife, Gisele Bündchen:
“I love seeing Tom Brady. He’s cool as crap. Have you seen his wife? I hope she comes to the game, I hope her sister comes to the game, all her friends come to the game.”
He was also asked if he thought Blake Bortles’ wife was attractive:
“Is she? This kind of information is important. That’s how I select my Pro Bowls.”
He compared himself to a giant sea monster:
And, finally, what he learned about himself following the suspension:
“[I’m] a really good pass rusher when I put my mind to it. I’m really good at that.”
