Stephen Curry’s MVP season has been great press for his alma mater, Davidson College, but it hasn’t exactly been all that pleasant for Davidson sports information director Joey Beeler.
According to the The Charlotte Observer, Beeler has been receiving so many phone calls asking for Steph Curry that he had to change his office number.
“I’d say 75 percent of them, the first question they ask is, ‘Is this Steph Curry?” Beeler said. “Sometimes it’ll be for his shoes. I’ve had requests for (his 2-year-old daughter) Riley. A lot are cute and want him to come to their birthday party.”
Beeler couldn’t figure out how so many people had gotten hold of his number until a Google search found a Yahoo Q&A from May 2008 had revealed his number which had been in use until this week.
With a new number, one can only hope that Beeler will actually be able to enjoy watching Curry light it up throughout the rest of the NBA Finals.
