Montreal Canadiens tough guy Brandon Prust had an eventful final shift in Sunday’s 6-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

First, he tripped up Lightning goalie Ben Bishop, sparking a fight with Braydon Coburn. While being led off the ice, he tossed an elbow pad at the Lightning bench.

Lightning captain Steven Stamkos ended up tossing the pad up into the stands to a fan.

Prust received a misconduct and game misconduct for a total of 27 minutes and 31 overall.

In a postgame interview, Prust then went off on referee Brad Watson, who he said insulted him after a first-period penalty.

The NHL generally doesn’t take kindly to players or coaches ripping the on-ice officials, so stay tuned Monday.
