Philadelphia Eagles rack up $17k tab at a rookie dinner

Philadelphia Eagles tackle Lane Johnson tweeted a receipt from a rookie dinner, and the Eagles ran up quite a tab. The team visited Del Frisco’s steakhouse in Philadelphia, and the final bill came out to $17,747.86. Although Johnson did not reveal who paid the bill (or if the rookies were buying for the veterans), ultra-expensive team dinners are unfortunately common in the NFL. Last week, Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant opened up on spending $55k for a team dinner as a rookie.

Here are some of the highlights (and low-lights):

19 Remy Martin Louis XIII shots ($4,525.00)

1 2009 Hillside Select Shafer Cab ($2,650.00)

1 2005 Screaming Eagle Cab ($3,495.00)

1 Mushrooms Sauteed ($10.00)

2 Asparagus ($25.00)

4 Bud Light ($22.00)

Tip ($472.20)

Tax ($1,535.51)

The gratuity seems awfully low for such a gigantic check. $472 is just 2.9% of the sub-total, though it’s possible that the team tipped with cash.
