Michael Phelps put on a speedo and joined ASU’s students in distracting free throw shooters

Michael Phelps attended Arizona State basketball’s game against Oregon State on Thursday.

He did even more than simply watch from the bleachers — he joined the Sun Devils’ Curtain of Distraction at the baseline in a speedo and a bunch of medals.

It looks like having Phelps may have helped, too. The Sun Devils won, 86-68, and the Beavers shot 9-for-20 from the FT line.

ASU is all in with Phelps.

Phelps moved to Arizona State because his trainer, Bob Bowman, took a coaching job with the school’s swim team. Phelps has said that he will be a volunteer assistant coach at ASU once he retires after competing in Rio.

Perhaps the next time he’s at a game he can go crazier with his choice of costume.
